Why are we now independent?Until 2007, we were known as Grant Thornton Melbourne. Before 1994 it was Horwath. These are great brands. So, why would we change? Our only focus is the business owner and the owner's business. No other major accounting and advisory firm has taken this exclusive stand. This focus enables us to direct all of our resources to bring together a seamless, integrated service offering, for just one type of client - the business owner. We say "no" to multi-nationals, governments, not-for-profits and large public companies. These types of clients require very different services and very different resources. For us, that makes a direct membership of any world-wide accounting group unnecessary.
